Vaporesso GEN MAX 220W Starter Kit
The Vaporesso GEN MAX 220W Starter Kit is the current flagship of the GEN line, built specifically for direct-lung vaping. Running two 18650 batteries through the AXON chipset, it delivers a full 5–220W range across VW, Pulse and Smart modes — Pulse firing in rapid bursts rather than continuously, which keeps the coil from over-saturating with heat and holds flavor steadier through long draws. Despite the output, the aluminium-alloy chassis keeps the whole thing at 196g, noticeably lighter than most dual-battery mods in this power class. A 0.96" TFT screen with a redesigned UI supports multiple display themes, and a one-button lock prevents misfires. The kit pairs with the iTank T, which moves both the fill port and the airflow to the top — the single most effective change against leaking — and adds an E-Liquid Recirculation system that returns condensed e-liquid to the coil rather than letting it pool and seep out. A sliding top-fill cover opens with a push, and the 6mL stainless steel tank runs the GTi mesh coil platform with COREX 2.0 cotton for better heat resistance and longer coil life. Q: Are batteries included?
A: No. You'll need two high-amp 18650 batteries, sold separately. Always use a matched pair — same brand, same model, same age, charged together — and never mix cells in a dual-battery mod.
Q: How is this different from the GEN SE?
A: Same chipset, same tank, same coils. The GEN MAX runs two 18650s for up to 220W; the GEN SE runs one 18650 for up to 80W. Choose the MAX if you want the headroom or the longer runtime between charges, and the SE if you'd rather carry something smaller and only ever vape below 80W.
Q: How is this different from the Armour Max?
A: Both are 220W dual-battery mods on the AXON chipset. The Armour Max takes 21700 or 18650 cells, has a rugged zinc-alloy and TPU shell, and adds temperature control and F(t) custom power curves. The GEN MAX is 18650 only and lighter at 196g, in a slimmer aluminium body. Pick the Armour Max for durability and TC, the GEN MAX for carrying comfort.
Q: Do I actually need 220W?
A: Almost certainly not for the included coils — the 0.2Ω tops out around 75W. The extra range matters if you plan to run higher-wattage GTi coils or fit a different 510 tank. The other real benefit of dual batteries is runtime: two cells at moderate wattage last far longer than one.
Q: What's the spare glass tube for?
A: The iTank T ships with one glass fitted and a second in the box, giving you a replacement if the first breaks. Check which is installed when you unpack — the fitted glass determines your actual capacity.
Q: Why does top airflow matter?
A: In bottom-airflow tanks, e-liquid works its way down through the airflow slots and out of the base — that's where most tank leaks originate. Q: Can I use a different tank?
A: Yes. The threaded 510 connection accepts standard tanks, and at 220W you've got enough headroom for essentially any sub-ohm tank on the market.
Q: What e-liquid should I use?
A: High-VG freebase e-liquid, typically 70VG/30PG, at low nicotine strength — usually 3mg or 6mg. Do not use nicotine salts or high-nicotine e-liquid in a sub-ohm setup at these wattages; nicotine delivery would be dangerously harsh.
